All Natural Berry Glaze

This all natural berry glaze is great for strawberries, raspberries and blueberries! Use to coat berries prior to topping tarts or cakes or as a foundation for fresh berries. Anytime you need to use berries, this glaze is a great addition and will replace the red artificial glaze with a natural product.

Instructions
  1. If you would like your glaze to be smooth, process berries in a blender or food processor. If you prefer a chunkier glaze, crush them with a fork.
  2. To remove unwanted seeds, securely attach a cheesecloth to a small bowl with a rubber band then filter processed berries through the cheesecloth. This takes some time, but will result in a clearer glaze.
  3. Food coloring is optional, but will give your glaze a deeper, brighter color.
  4. In a small saucepan, combine all ingredients.
  5. Over medium-low heat, stir continuously until the ingredients have combined and begin to thicken.
  6. Remove from heat and store in a refrigerated, airtight, plastic container.
  7. If you need to thin out the glaze before use, add 1 tsp of warm water at a time until the glaze reaches the desired consistency.
