  1. Gently clean mushrooms with a damp paper towel to remove any dirt. Trim stems by removing a thin slice off the bottom. Slice mushrooms.
  2. In a large saucepan, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium high heat. Make sure that you use a large enough pan so that the mushrooms are not crowded.
  3. Add mushrooms to the hot oil and sauté for 4-5 minutes, gently stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon.
  4. Reduce heat to low. Add balsamic vinegar and red wine to the pan, gently stirring to combine.
  5. Bring saucepan up to a low simmer, cover and simmer for 3 minutes.
  6. Remove cover, salt and pepper to taste and remove pan from heat.
  7. Add butter to pan and stir until incorporated.
  8. Serve immediately.
