My son had issues with his blood sugar when he was about ten years old. His pediatrician recommended that we add more protein to his diet as a way to help him manage his levels. My son was very happy to hear that the protein didn’t have to come from meat, but could come from dairy, fruits and peanut butter.
We took his favorite flavors and created a smoothie that he was happy to drink every night.
Ten years later, he will still have this smoothie at night. He adds a scoop of protein powder to his smoothie to up the protein level even more.
