At some point when my kids were growing up, we decided to combine two of their favorite snacks, gorp and marshmallow bars into Gorp Bars.
They were an instant hit with the cul-de-sac crowd and a welcomed change from our usual snacks.
I had a lot of help putting these bars together every time I made them. Both of my children wanted to make sure that the bars were just right, so they would pull up a stool and help stir and press.
These bars are a great way to get your children excited about being in the kitchen. With an adult handling the melted butter and marshmallows, children can safely measure and mix the ingredients in a large bowl.
Easy to make and transport, these colorful treats are great to take for picnics and parties.
