When I was told that I needed to eliminate gluten, I did not know what to do. I turned to the Internet and spent hours reading everything that I could find about Celiac’s and living gluten free. I poured over gluten free food blogs, product websites and sites for non-profit gluten free organizations. I learned something new from every site I visited.
There are quite a few non-profit foundations out there whose missions are to empower people by providing education and resources about living gluten free. Any time that you spend visiting these sites will not be wasted.
Gluten Intolerance Group: https://www.gluten.org
Gluten Intolerance Group also has a chapter from children, teens and young adults called generation.gf. Generation GF creates local support groups for kids and their families and provides a place where they can have their questions answered.
Celiac Disease Foundation: http://celiac.org
National Foundation for Celiac Awareness: http://www.celiaccentral.org
Celiac Support Association: http://www.csaceliacs.org
Another resource that I have found useful for information for gluten free news and products is http://www.gfreek.com.
Knowledge is empowering. These groups exist to make living gluten free easier. Take advantage of them.
