The first time I had one of these turkey burgers was about 25 years ago. I remember how fresh the cilantro tasted. We never had a homemade burgers when I was a kid, my mother never cooked them for us when we were growing up. Burgers and fries were reserved for the rare occasions when we went out to eat.
I moved to Seattle when I was in my early 20’s and a whole new world of food and adventures opened up for me. My mother was never a great cook, so when I moved out west I started learning about food and cooking. It has been a passion for me ever since.
I mixed the cilantro in with the ground turkey, along with some spices and diced red onion. I like to serve these burgers on a fresh bun with garlic aioli, it is absolutely delicious. It takes me back to the first time I ever tried one of these.

Instructions
Place all ingredients in a large bowl and mix together well. It is best to use your hands to mix the burger mix together.
Divide into 3 equal parts and form patties. I put the burger mix into an english muffin ring, it made perfect, uniform burger patties. (we are working on a bun recipe that will use the rings to form the buns)
You can either cook these on the grill, or in the oven on the low broil setting. I made them both ways and they came out perfect both ways.
Cook until the juices run clear.
You can top them with the cheese of your choice, if you like. I used provolone cheese for the burger in the photo.
Serve on a fresh roll with the toppings of your choice.
