My son had issues with his blood sugar when he was about ten years old. His pediatrician recommended that we add more protein to his diet as a way to help him manage his levels. My son was very happy to hear that the protein didn’t have to come from meat, but could come from dairy, fruits and peanut butter. We took his favorite flavors and created a smoothie that he was happy to drink every night. This peanut butter and chocolate smoothie was one of his favorites.
Back then, we made this drink with ice cream, so it was more of a shake than a smoothie. Over the years, we lightened it up by switching out the ice cream for yogurt and adding a scoop of protein powder.
So many years later, he is grown man, but he will still have this smoothie at night.
If you love the combination of chocolate and peanut butter, you will love this smoothie.
